“Cancer is not a death sentence, but rather it is a life sentence; it pushes one to live!“-Marcia Smith
Breast cancer is the most common cancer among women in the United States (other than skin cancer). But millions of women are surviving the disease thanks in part to early detection and improvements in treatment. I am urging each of you to do your part and get regularly screened, because your health is definitely worth it!! I also encourage you guys to keep a few things in mind:
-Every woman is at risk.
-One in eight will get it in their lifetime.
-Every 13 minutes a woman dies from breast cancer.
-It is the leading cancer death in ages 15 to 54.
-96 percent survive with early detection.
-It is 100 times more common among women than men.
Please do your research and protect yourself as best as you can!!
And lastly, for those of you fighting the disease or know someone who is, please continue to fight on and/or encourage those fighting, to continue to fight the good fight with God, faith, courage, hope and strength. Even in the most discouraging times, fight on!!
Blog Post Dedicated to L. Dickerson someone I admire immensely! You’ve fought this battle twice and survived!! Look at GOD!!
